My last day of wedding photography in 2012 took me to the centre of Lincoln for a stunning marquee wedding. I first met Melanie & Chris only around 6 weeks before their wedding, when we sat down and discussed their plans. A church wedding and then a marquee reception at home was their idea. I’m always excited at the prospect of a wedding reception at the couples home, as it gives you complete freedom to have everything as you want it.
Arriving at the reception I found every inch of lawn covered by an impressively huge marquee. Even more impressive was how toasty warm it was inside, considering the freezing weather outside! Guests were greeted with canapés, drinks and entertainment from the very talented singer Hudson Lewis, before sitting down for the wedding breakfast.
Mel & Chris had also hired a wedding videographer (also called Chris) who was a pleasure to work with on the day. If you are looking for a videographer for your wedding, you should definitely check out Chris at CinematicVizion.co.uk.
During the meal, myself and Chris number 2 went for a quick drive into Lincoln to find a couple of locations to take some photos/video of Mel & Chris on their own later that evening, as the weather had prevented us from doing so earlier in the day.
We whisked Mel & Chris off in the car for about 20 minutes between the meal and first dance. The shots we managed to capture can be seen at the bottom of the page, and were well worth braving the cold!
The first dance came and Mel & Chris were showered in confetti from a confetti bomb, while dancing to music from the band, which played on into the night.
Congratulations to Mel & Chris on their wedding, I can’t wait to start putting the album together.
